Our experienced instructors are committed to teaching Wilderness First Aid, Basic First Aid, Advanced First Aid, Remote First Aid, Basic and Advanced CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed skills in an effective manner.
Our goal is to train you so well that by the end of the course you are truly confident that you can help save a life with your new skills.
We use a very "hands-on" scenario-based training method to help people with very little or zero previous First Aid/CPR/AED experience be an effective provider in an emergency situation.
Doug Trumble, our Senior Instructor, has over 10 years of experience teaching Wilderness First Aid, Basic First Aid/CPR/AED, Advanced First Aid/CPR/AED, and the national Stop the Bleed course .
US Outdoor First Aid is an officially certified training partner with three well respected national training organizations:
The Wilderness First Aid - 16 Hour Course provides training in advanced first aid knowledge and practical hands-on skills to use in outdoor situations where definitive medical care is hours or even days away.
This course specifically meets the Wilderness First Aid training requirements of the Boy Scouts of America for participation in "high adventure" activities such as Philmont Scout Ranch, Sea Base and Northern Tier treks.
Successfully completing this course will earn the participant a two-year certification in Wilderness First Aid and CPR/AED.
Sample Topics Included in the Course:
This course utilizes a lot of hands-on scenario-based training so the participant can learn the concepts more readily.
A person can bleed to death in 1 to 5 minutes if an artery is severed.
Stop the Bleed training is designed to teach anyone how to confidently deal with a severe bleeding situation.
This course was developed to train people how to save lives in a mass shooting event before EMS help arrives.
The knowledge in this course can also be used at home, work, recreation or anywhere that severe bleeding may occur.
In this course the student will learn the basics of First Aid when EMS or medical care is readily available.
These skills are great to have for use in emergencies around home or community.
Topics Included in the Course:

Successfully completing this course will earn the participant a two-year certification in Basic First Aid/CPR/AED.
In this course the participant will delve more in depth on topics taught in the Basic First Aid/CPR/AED.
It is recommended that people considering this course already have a good understanding of Basic First Aid/CPR/AED.
Successfully completing this course will earn the participant a two-year certification in Advanced First Aid/CPR/AED.
This course is focused solely on learning CPR and AED skills handling choking situations for adults, children and infants.
This course is fairly simple to understand but the investment in time can result in a real life-saving return.
When paired with the Stop the Bleed training it is a very powerful skill set to have when you are out and about with family and at school events.
Basic CPR/AED, Choking First Aid and Stop the Bleed are very effective life-saving skills. People who are "on the scene" are in a great position to immediately implement these critical life-saving steps.
Anyone capable of helping other people should know these skills.
Successfully completing this course will earn the participant a two-year certification in CPR/AED.
US Outdoor First Aid can work with individual companies or groups to tailor specific First Aid/CPR/AED training to individual training needs.
Let's talk about that.
Course prices vary based on course length and the number of people in each class.
The goal at US Outdoor First Aid is to have reasonably priced classes that can provide the students with the resources needed to TRULY learn and be able to use the skills.
PowerPoint presentations are used sparingly with the training focus on hands-on training and discussion style "lectures".
Currently we like to have a minimum of five students per class. The max limit we like to have is 10 to 12 people. This gives us a great student/instructor ratio.
When the class size gets to the 10 - 12 person range the price per student can go down quite a bit.
